Resignation of Senator Mary Jo Fisher

Media release Senator Mary Jo Fisher has been a valued colleague and friend.
It was with great sadness that I learnt Mary Jo decided to announce her resignation from the Senate.
Mary Jo has fought hard for South Australia and Australia. Particularly in the area of workplace relations and the Murray Darling Basin.
She brought a lifetime’s knowledge of rural and regional Australia to the Senate.
Mary Jo has always had a sense of fun and has been a terrific colleague.
She will be missed from the Senate by her colleagues and I’m sure many non-Coalition colleagues as well.
I wish her and her husband John the very best as she now devotes her full attention to addressing the health issues with which she has been beset for some time.
