Opening of Southern Cross Care’s Carmelite at Myrtle Bank
It was a pleasure to attend the opening of Carmelite at Myrtle Bank, Southern Cross Care’s most ambitious project to date, and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Cross Care.
Carmelite is a $50 million development, which includes a residential aged care centre with a total of 72 rooms shared across two levels. Not only does it cater for its senior residents with quality aged care and accommodation, but on the above three levels, the development also provides vibrant community spaces, such as a wellness centre, hairdressing salon, multipurpose areas, a café, dining areas and gardens for the enjoyment of its residents, clients and visitors.
This is a wonderful development that combines aged care with an enjoyable lifestyle for its residents. I am glad that it will give senior Sturt constituents a state-of-the-art residential care option and it was an honour to cut the ribbon at its opening.
The completion of this development also falls amongst Southern Cross Care’s 50th anniversary, which marks half a decade of non-for-profit aged care and support, helping South Australians remain healthy and independent as they grow older. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate this milestone for an invaluable SA organisation.
