A Liberal Government will spend $7.5 million on 'blackspot' road funding to improve both Fosters and Gorge Road in Sturt.

Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey and Christopher Pyne, Federal Member for Sturt, announced the funding today in Adelaide.

"Fosters and Gorge are dangerous roads in desperate need of resurfacing," Mr Pyne said.

"Thousands of people in Sturt use the roads everyday and many have raised safety concerns with me," he said.

"There have been accidents on Gorge Road, some leading to loss of life, while Fosters Road is an important artery for the North East in dire need of work.

"Fixing these roads transcends politics and elections, it is a simple necessity.

"We will take real action to address this problem and be calling on the State Government to at least match our commitment," Mr Pyne said.
